Description:

Conflicts are a part of everyday life, both in our personal lives and in the workplace. Every single member of the university has a responsibility to ensure that we deal with conflicts constructively. We experience conflicts as unpleasant, but they also show us that something is wrong and that we need to take action in order to improve the situation. When dealt with constructively, conflicts can, for example, bring us closer together as a team and can help us develop on a personal level, clarify responsibilities and develop more efficient work processes.

The main objective of this workshop is learning how to manage workplace conflicts professionally and confidently. An important focus will be on reflecting on and understanding our own behaviour in conflict situations and discussing general questions about conflicts (What is a conflict? What types of conflict are there? What part do emotional aspects play in conflicts, and what part do the facts of the situation play? How do conflicts affect us in the workplace?). On this basis, the participants will try out solution-oriented conversation techniques and approaches to conflict management.
