Description:

Publishing research is a cornerstone of scientific work, and the visibility and reach of your publications are crucial for building your reputation and that of your institution. While quantitative metrics like citation counts and the Journal Impact Factor still heavily influence research evaluations, the choice of where and how you publish can significantly affect your career. Publishing with a predatory publisher, for instance, can have a strong negative influence. Therefore, the decision of where and how to disseminate your research should be made with careful consideration.

This seminar, offered in cooperation with the Saxon State and University Library (SLUB), will explore how to develop effective individual publication strategies tailored to disciplinary considerations.

We'll address key questions such as:

- How important is an h-index for an academic career?

- What are effective ways to increase the visibility of your publications within the academic community?

- What is the true significance of a journal's influence?

- What is an ORCID iD, and how can it be used effectively for managing your academic identity?

Join us to learn how to navigate the complexities of academic publishing and maximize the reach and influence of your research.

With your registration you are required to accept the terms and conditions for participation.
