Description:

The workshop provides basic knowledge of supportive communication and mental health.

In particular, we will talk about work-related stress in the context of life as a PhDs and PostDocs. We will learn about strategies one can apply to meet these challenges and remain a sustainable work-life balance. The course will focus on how to recognize first signs of mental stress, which first aid strategies can be useful for self-help, and how to get support from outside in case of serious problems and burn out. Using a mixture of theoretical input, exchange of experience and role plays, we will learn together to take different perspectives and practice dealing with challenging situations.

The seminar will offer the opportunity to bring in own experiences, to discuss them together and to develop possible solutions in order to stay healthy in a challenging environment.
