Day 2: Online Workshop via Zoom - You will get the link to Zoom as well as further information by e-mail at least one day before the workshop.

You will need a stable internet connection, a camera and a microphone.

The online workshop will be held via the commercial service Zoom, which you will have to use voluntary and at your own risk. The GA accepts no liability under data protection law or otherwise.

Description:

In this workshop we will talk about:

• How is the German career path in Academia structured?
• What are differences between Juniorprofessor, Tenure-track-Professor and W2- / W3-Professor?
• Last steps explain the way: Selections of new professors (Berufungsverfahren) are a somehow special way of recruitment: How are they structured?
• Checklist: What do you need to accomplish before you are able to apply for professorship?
• What did you do already and what are your next steps?
• We talk about publications, 3rd party funding, teaching, networks, international research stays, talks etc.
• What is a scientific profile and how could you develop your profile?
• Risks and challenges: What are risks of research careers and how could you minimize them?

On the second day a single coaching will give participants the opportunity to talk about specific questions concerning their own situation. Appointments will be made during the workshop.
