Description:
Writing is a central part of the PhD journey, but for many doctoral candidates, scientific writing can feel overwhelming. How can you manage your writing process to produce high-quality texts within the given timeframe?
This workshop series combines theoretical insights with hands-on writing techniques to help you navigate the challenges of academic writing. It is designed to support you in reflecting on your writing habits, exchanging ideas with peers, and building sustainable, productive writing routines.
Each module focuses on a key phase of the writing process. You can register for the full series or choose individual modules based on your needs.
Module 1 – Turning Ideas into a Research Project (07.05.2026)
Module 2 - From Fragments to Framework: Structuring your Material (04.06.2026)
Over the course of your PhD, you will accumulate a wealth of material: literature, data, notes, and draft texts. Turning this into a coherent dissertation with a clear line of argument can be challenging.
This workshop introduces practical strategies for organizing your material and developing a logical and reader-friendly structure. You will work on identifying the “red thread” of your dissertation and aligning chapters and sections with your central research question.
Participants are encouraged to bring an outline of their dissertation, chapter, or other scientific texts to work on during the session.
Module 3 - Getting Words on the Page: First Draft Writing (01.07.2026)
Module 4 - From Draft to Polished Chapter: Text Revision Strategies (27.08.2026)
With your registration you are required to accept the terms and conditions for participation.
